Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data Pluggie collects, why, and what you can do about it. It is
written to meet the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA), and follows GDPR-style
practice for readers outside Nigeria.
1. Who we are (data controller)
The data controller for Pluggie (heypluggie.com) is Ositadinma Precious
Onyeugwo, trading as Pluggie, in Nigeria. Pluggie is an independent
publication and is not operated by any company.

2. What we collect
We deliberately collect as little as possible. Today that means:

We do not currently run any analytics or tracking software of our own, and we do not
operate a newsletter. If that changes, this policy will be updated before the tool goes live.
We do not collect payment details. We never see your card — purchases happen entirely on the
merchant’s own site.
3. Cookies and affiliate tracking
We use:
- Essential cookies — needed for the site to function (e.g. your cookie choice, comment details).
- Affiliate cookies — set by third parties, not by us. When you click an affiliate link,
the merchant or its affiliate network (e.g. Hostinger, Systeme.io) places a cookie so the sale can be
credited to Pluggie. That cookie is governed by their privacy policy, and it typically records the
click and any resulting purchase. We are told that a sale happened and the commission amount — we are
not told who you are.
We set no analytics or advertising cookies of our own.
You can refuse or delete cookies in your browser settings. Refusing affiliate cookies does not
change what you pay or what you can read here.
4. Who your data is shared with
We do not sell personal data. Ever. We share it only with the service providers needed to run the site:
- Hostinger — web hosting and email (servers process every request).
- Affiliate networks and merchants — as described in section 3, for click and commission attribution.
Some of these providers are outside Nigeria, so your data may be transferred abroad. Where that happens we
rely on providers that offer NDPA/GDPR-standard contractual protections.
5. How long we keep it
- Emails you send us — up to 24 months, so we can follow up on an earlier conversation.
- Comments — until you ask us to delete them, or the article is retired.
- Server logs — as retained by our host, typically 30–90 days.
6. Your rights
Under the NDPA 2023 (and equivalent laws elsewhere) you can ask us to:
- tell you what data we hold about you, and give you a copy;
- correct anything inaccurate;
- delete your data;
- stop or limit a particular use;
- withdraw consent at any time;
- object to processing based on legitimate interest.
Email hello@heypluggie.com and we will respond within
30 days. If you’re not satisfied, you may complain to the
Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC).
7. Security
The site runs over HTTPS, administrative access is restricted and protected by strong unique
credentials, and software is kept updated. No website can promise perfect security, but we keep the data we
hold minimal on purpose — that is the strongest protection available.
8. Children
Pluggie is written for adults and is not directed at children under 18. We don’t knowingly collect data from
children. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, email us and we’ll delete it.
9. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we’ll update the date at the top, and for significant changes we’ll say so on the
site. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
